Why Mashable rules on internet?

Mashable was initiated by Pete Cashmore in July 2005, and now it is one of best and most visiting blog on internet. TIME has already named it in top 25 blogs. The Blog is ruling the internet with nearly 15 million page views every month and Pete Cashmore’s followers have been exceeded to 1,982,000. The site is ranked at 350, worldwide, on Alexa. And it’s still improving. Every blogger or web magazine owner wants to know more, Why Mashable is ruling the blogging world. What attracts the most, and pull the visitors towards it and why some users open Mashable site more than once every day, just to stay in touch with latest updates.
In Early Days:
Like every other blog, Mashable also took lot of time to attain its place online and in social web. Now site is in top 5 Blog on Twitter and Technorati. Pete Cashmore was dedicated to its site from initial days, like today. It took one year for Mashable to get a good deal, and deal was to place ad on the blog for $3,000 a month, which is pretty huge.
Spirit of blogging
Blogs are believed to be best and one of most easy way to learn. Most of people prefer to read the articles which are written in straightforward terms not in so much techie style. Think about it, you as a writer might be aware of its all techie terms but reader might not be.
A blog post should be short, easy to read, understandable and with lots of references in it, so the users don’t get confuse and move to related links if having problem in understanding. That is what Mashable do. What observed, most of its post includes main points of topic with simple short paragraphs. So the reader doesn’t feels to be wasting time while reading the post. If the reader have no curiosity in post’s topic, your title and shortness of post can still develop it.
Keeping the fine steady flow of posts is also one of essential part of promoting your blog. That is why some of big blogs and web magazine keep looking for writers and pay them as well, to write. The reason is, as long your blog is providing posts with fresh content, it’s alive and people come to it. Mashable publish more than 15 posts a day, sometimes. Some of these posts might be not related to Social Media, which is Mashable main topic, but to keep the blog on top you have to make people to come on blog again and again, it is possible only if your blog is having something fresh to serve visitors.
Title matters a lot
On the announcement of Apple iPad, your blog was not only to break that news. There were thousands of blogs, covered that news. So why people come to your site only, to read that news, the title of your post can be the reason of pulling people towards it. No matter they have already went through this news somewhere else, but your title still have the influence, as people will click on link for the sake of some more interesting factors regarding to that post.
Mashable know the tricks
More than 70 percent of traffic to a normal blog comes from social web like twitter, digg and stumbleupon. And your link will display on top only if you have tweeted, digged and stumbled lot of times. Mashable always used great policy to make more people to click on social bookmarking links, by keeps the buttons on the place where users will click more. And it’s true, people prefer to socialize Mashable posts more than any else, on their social profiles. The power full network of your followers also helps you a lot in game of achieving good count number of social sharing. It has been also observed; people click on the social links more, if they are already submitted. Because to them this might be interesting story and best thing they can do is to share with their friends online, no matter they have not even read it.
Brand with glamorous identity
Prefer to use your own Avatar on your blog’s social profiles along logo of your brand. Fan chasing policy should be consider, not brand chasing. People prefer to get socialize with socialized people. Mashable always stay active and socialize on social profile. Mashable is not only biggest blog on internet, but also a trend maker, as policies similar to it can lead your blog to high level as well.
