by Staff Writer
The famous cute little blue bird, known as Twitter, has just turned 4. The micro-blogging service Twitter, which changed the way of social networking, was started just 4 years before when its co-founder Jack Dorsey sent his first tweet “just setting up my twttr” at 12:50 pm Pacific time, with his fellows Evan Williams, Biz Stone and others, and latter it got famous dramatically because of its exceptionality and clean interface which keeps post shorter with 140 characters and make them straightforward to read.
At this birthday, Twitter teams deserves congratulations, as they made the social circle easy, and one can get in touch with any of his/her follower in no time. Twitter is on 12th rank on Alexa which shows its popularity. From very first day, twitter kept changing polices and kept improving its interface which caused to attract more and more people, especially from the other social communities.
At 2007, Twitter won the blog awards at South by Southwest Interactive Conference. After that, twitter was the hottest topic to talk about in technology talks. Twitter became most appropriate way to have updates about your stars, but obviously in start there were some fake stars’ profiles as well. So at June 12 2009, twitter launched “Verified Accounts”, which helps users to identify genuine profiles.
Twitter is not just all about this; it also became the easiest way to find latest search results on internet, as the tweets are all about “what’s up!” so the big search giants signed the search deals with Twitter to improve their service, and helped Twitter to expand more popularity. Later than the Twitter-LinkedIn Partnership at November 2010, twitter developed more strong strings with users as users loved the services which let them to update their status from other social networks as well.
Twitter is just micro-blogging service, but giving really tough time to Facebook and even Google. But the Google has just recently came out of Google Buzz, service quite familiar to Twitter, now its Twitter turn to face tough time. Is the famous tag line “Follow me on Twitter” gonna last long?
Almost 70 to 90 percent of traffic to any blog comes from social communities including Twitter, but their popularity keeps changing as the new services keep coming. But the current stats shows, Twitter gonna survive extensively.
